It's power lies in the attunements from a Reiki Master
REIKI - universal life force energy
The word 'Reiki' is Japanese and the kanji, letters of the symbol are Chinese. It means 'Life Energy'.
The name 'Reiki' was given by Dr Usui to describe the energy used.
Similar symbols and healing techniques have been found over the world, some going back thousands of years in Tibet, Egypt, Japan, and ancient cultures in Southern India. So it is an ancient tradition.
All living things on this planet contain Life Force Energy. It is literally the energy that is "life" and is also known as Chi or Prana.
Reiki is the key to the Universal Life Force Energy. And the 'key' is in a series of attunements passed from Reiki Master to student, which opens and clears a channel for a higher more powerful frequency of light energy to flow through the Initiate.
Healing becomes Reiki only through attunements from a Reiki Master When giving a healing the Reiki energy flows through these opened channels and peace and harmony is restored in areas of imbalance in the body, mind and spirit. The energy can release, activate and transform as needed, regenerating organs, rebuilding tissues and bones, harmonising and balancing on the mental, physical and emotional levels.
With each Reiki treatment the Reiki healer also receives healing.
With each attunement the Master also is reattuned.
Dr Usui born 15 August 1865, died 8 March 1926 rediscovered and researched this system of healing during the early 1900s, and practised from his Reiki Clinic in Kyoto. Whilst meditating he received all the attunements in one blast, and tended to teach Reiki in this way.
It was his collegue Dr Hayashi who broke the teachings into the three levels we are so familiar with now.
Madame Takarta, a student of Dr. Usui took Reiki to Hawaii, then the USA where it has grown with great success, now spreading all over the world. Dr Usui was told by Buddhist monks that to truly heal the body you had to heal the spiritual self first.
Channelling Reiki creates a closer awareness of the Divine presence with you. In a state of oneness with the Divine, the traumas of the mind, body and emotions are substantially eased.
It brings a wonderful sense of peace and stillness, and is deeply relaxing and energising.
Worries and fears, tension and pain are eased and the body's natural ability to heal itself is magnified.
Reiki healing energy powerfully and gently heals the self and others.
It is a spiritual power using the natural life force energy direct from Source - God, which accelerates the natural healing process.
So Reiki was originally created as an aid to spiritual enlightenment. In bringing peace and deep relaxation it is a wonderful tool for healing.

The Reiki Effect
Reiki powerfully calms, soothes and relaxes, easing discomfort and relieving pain. When stress fades, peace replaces it and the bodies natural means of repair can work more efficiently.
Reiki complements traditional treatments beautifully, often relieving side effects of conventional medicine and promoting a faster healing process.
Reiki is known to have been used in the East for over 2500 years. It was used by Buddha and Jesus. In the 1920's it was rediscovered by Dr. Usui of Kyoto, Japan who named it Reiki and set up the first Reiki Clinic in Kyoto.
Now it has been brought to the West and enjoys a huge worldwide revival.
It's really very simple - and it's effect very powerful. A Reiki Treatment
To have a Reiki treatment is a very calming and deeply relaxing experience.
The Sanctuary is prepared before your visit to be a safe and loving space for you. You are at all times fully clothed and either sitting or lying down whilst the healer places their hands in a series of positions on or just above the body enabling the life force energy to do it's healing work.
Reiki magnifies the body's own natural ability to heal itself, and greatly enhances the work of traditional and alternative medicine.
For example ...
* a fractured bone was seen by X-ray to be healed after 3 weeks in plaster instead of the usual 6.
* Cancerous tumours have virtually disappeared in a client having Reiki with their orthodox treatment.
* Recovery from a major operation was smooth and fast assisted with Reiki healing.
* The side effects of traditional Cancer treatment, chemotherapy and radiotherapy were minimalised with Reiki.
It's used to heal dis-eases holistically on all levels, mental, physical, spiritual and emotional.
A Reiki consultation at the Sanctuary with Anne takes 90 minutes. Those receiving Reiki report feelings of stillness and deep peace, warmth from the healing energy, and a sense of wellbeing. For some, the peace and relaxation is blissful during illness or emotional turmoil.
